the 4 test tiles, 2 in white clay, 2 in red. Far right was quenched in water, far left was buried in rice hulls, middle two air cooled.

Here are some test tiles from a test I did this afternoon of a glaze for hikidashiguro.

It is 50/50  Benigara (RIO)/Mixed wood ash

    Have you tried your local ceramics supply store? I have a pair of long handled things that have a curve to grab rounded objects.

    • Hi Dave,
      I’ve found some tongs at various places that seem acceptable, but the aren’t long enough. One of the places where I’ll be yanking from will be pretty deep. I might just buy a regular pair and weld some handle extensions to it.
